Abstract

Nephrotic syndrome is characterized by significant proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, generalized edema, and hyperlipidemia. According to its etiology, it is classified as primary and secondary, the latter being rarely found in pediatrics, whose causes can be multiple such as systemic diseases, drugs, neoplasms, or infectious diseases. A clinical case is presented of a female adolescent with nephrotic syndrome secondary to syphilis, who received appropriate antibiotic management with resolution of the clinical condition.
