Abstract

Since the appearance of the first cases or clusters of Covid 19 pneumonia in Wuhan, in the Hubei province of China at the end of November-December 2019, SARS-Cov-2 has represented a challenge for the scientific community, first find the etiological agent and later the appearance of the new variants, a name given to the evolution of the original or wild virus due to changes in the genetic code (genetic mutation) that occur during genome replication in this case of SARS-Cov- two.

These new mutations may vary from the original in higher transmission speed, greater virulence, interfering with the protection of the vaccinated individual before the new variants, immunity of the individual who has suffered the infection, less effective treatment, failures in diagnostic methods.
