Abstract

Introduction
In recent years, the phenomenon known as "vaccine hesitancy" has spread throughout the world, including among health workers, determining a reduction in vaccination coverage. This study was conducted to evaluate vaccination coverage among health professionals in 10 cities in Italy (L'Aquila, Genoa, Milan, Palermo, Sassari, Catanzaro, Ferrara, Catania, Naples, Messina).

Methodology
A cross-sectional study was conducted from March to September 2018 in 10 cities in Italy. The vaccination status of the health workers participating in the study was collected.

Results
A total of 3,454 health workers participated: 1,236 men and 2,218 women.

The sample included: physicians (26.9%), physicians-in-training (16.1%), nurses (17.2%), and other health professionals (9.8%). In general, coverage was low. The highest coverage was related to polio, hepatitis b, tetanus, and diphtheria vaccines, while the lowest coverage was related to measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, varicella, and inuenza (20-30%).

Conclusions
This study revealed low coverage rates in health personnel for all vaccines. Therefore, measures are required to promote increased coverage in this important group, to prevent health workers from becoming a source of transmission of infections with high morbidity and mortality both in hospitals and outside of them.

Introduction North American guidelines for medium use suggest screen-free periods or zones, however they do not offer alternative strategies to reduce damage. The hypothesis of the study was that having a television in the children's room during the preschool years is associated with risks to the mental and physical health of adolescents.

Methodology

The participants were 907 girls and 952 boys who have been followed since birth as they belong to the Prospective Longitudinal Cohort of the Child Development Study of Quebec, Canada. The results of the children at 12 and 13 years, measured by different sources, were analyzed with the fact that they had television in their room at 4 years of age.

Results

The presence of Television in the room at 4 years of age, predicted a high body surface index at the age of 12 (standardized B = 0.10, p <0.001), plus unhealthy eating habits at 13 years (B = 0.10, p <0.001), higher levels of emotional stress (B = 0.12, p <0.001), depressive symptoms (B = 0.08, p <0.001), victimization (B = 0.07, p <0.001), physical aggression (B = 0.09, p <0.001) and low levels of sociability (B = −0.09, p <0.001) at the age of 12, beyond the pre-existing individual and family factors.

Conclusions

The inclusion of screens in a preschool room does not bode well in the long term for cardio-metabolic well-being, mental health, and social relationships.
